Our story, our values

Experienced Accountants With a Mission-First Mindset

A Local Firm With Statewide Reach

S&P Accounting is a veteran-friendly, relationship-driven accounting and advisory firm based in The Cascades, a historic landmark in Ocala, Florida. While Ocala is home, our reach extends across Kentucky, the East Coast, and well beyond. We support nonprofits, growing small businesses, and individuals with complex financial needs using a blend of real-world experience, modern technology, and practical guidance that adapts as your organization evolves.

Powered by a veteran mindset

Though not a veteran-owned firm, S&P Accounting is shaped by a veteran mindset—discipline, reliability, and service-first professionalism. Chris Porter’s military background influences our processes, our responsiveness, and our commitment to helping active-duty families navigate multi-state tax challenges, residency questions, and the unique financial considerations that come with military life.

An Approach Rooted in Trust and Relationships

We believe accounting should be approachable and solutions-focused. That means no jargon, no confusing processes, and no one-size-fits-all templates. Instead, we focus on building real relationships with our clients—helping them understand their finances, prepare for challenges, and plan for long-term success. Whether it’s small business accounting services, military tax guidance or nonprofit advisory work, our approach is always grounded in clarity, honesty, and personal attention.

Modern Tools with a Personal Touch

At S&P Accounting, we believe that modern technology should make accounting simpler, not more complicated. Our firm is fully paperless, using secure, cloud-based systems to manage bookkeeping, payroll, and tax documentation with efficiency and precision. This approach helps us stay current, protect client data, and provide real-time access to financial information whenever you need it.
